President's News

All the best to everyone for the 2022 trialing season!  Though we don’t have a lot of trials in BC anymore, there are two excellent ones to look forward to! Dore River Farm in McBride (Jennifer L’Arrivee) is hosting a trial in July to be followed by Jean and Dennis Gellings Trial in Dawson Creek.  Both an excellent test for dogs and handlers.

The Board of Directors have been following the Provincial Health Guidelines and as such the policy  regarding COVID 19 and Vaccinations will now follow our Provincial Health Guidelines. BCSDA will sanction all trials in BC that request sanctioning and meet our standard guidelines.  There will no longer be restrictions on unvaccinated participants.  However, trial hosts that request all participants be vaccinated, the BCSDA will support them. We ask that members respect the wishes of our Trial hosts, whether it be social distancing, masks or vaccinations.  COVID 19 has been a tough go for many, let’s work together to get back to working our dogs and cheering each other on!

This is my last term as President, and I will be stepping down in the fall.  If you have never run for office, I encourage you to do so.  The club needs fresh perspectives and ideas!

All the best for the 2022 trial season.
